Organizer Information
CIRKULUM is organized by Cirkus trochu jinak, z.s. (operating as the BoCirk Company), in close cooperation with CTJ Art Production s.r.o., based in Ostrava-Vítkovice, Czech Republic. First held in 2019 in Ostrava-Poruba, CIRKULUM describes itself as the first international festival of new circus in Northern Moravia, presenting and popularizing genres such as new circus, pantomime, and street, physical, and improvisation theatre — an original concept the organizers say has no equivalent elsewhere in Moravia or Silesia. The festival has since relocated more than once, and for its 2026–2027 editions is staged inside the Gong Multifunctional Hall in the Dolní Vítkovice industrial complex, part of what the organizers describe as marking 20 years of new circus activity in Ostrava under the BoCirk umbrella. The project receives financial support from the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the City of Ostrava, the Moravian-Silesian Region, and the State Fund for Culture.

Cirkulum 2027 – Open Call
The CIRKULUM Festival 2027 (Ostrava, Czech Republic) is announcing an open call for contemporary circus artists and companies focused on street performance. The festival takes place in the protected and heated space of the Gong Multifunctional Auditorium. Artists are expected to present a 30-minute show, including work-in-progress material, that was conceived for outdoor performance but will be presented indoors at the festival. Selected artists will take part in the showcase edition of CIRKULUM and present their work to representatives of festivals and cultural organizations from the Czech Republic and abroad during pitch sessions and networking meetings.

Eligibility
- Open to new circus artists, both companies and individuals
- Applicants must be prepared to present a 30-minute show, including work-in-progress, that was designed for outdoor performance (to be presented indoors at the festival)
