With studios in New York and Los Angeles, CultureHub and its international partners—DOCKdigital (Berlin), Société des arts technologiques (Montréal), and La MaMa Umbria (Spoleto)—strive to support work that critically and imaginatively examines how technology can amplify humanity.

CultureHub Residency Program 2026.
This program supports artists developing projects that utilize tools such as virtual reality, AI, robotics, creative coding, and telepresence. The residency is structured into two tracks: Los Angeles residents receive 1–2 weeks of intensive studio time for development and sensory exploration, while New York residents participate in a joint international residency, spending one week in NYC and one week at an international partner site.

Eligibility
- Location: Open only to artists living and working in Los Angeles, CA or New York, NY.
- Education: Applicants must not be currently enrolled in a degree-earning program.
- Restriction: Artists may only apply for one of the residency opportunities (either the LA track or one of the NY international tracks).
Program Benefits and Awards
- Stipend: A $2,000 stipend for project development.
- Studio Access: Use of flexible studio spaces equipped with reconfigurable lighting, audio (including 5:1 Kalio Audio in LA), video, and projection systems.
- Technical Support: Access to technical staff and specialized equipment during the residency.
- International Support (NY Track): Fully funded international travel and housing for the partner-site portion of the residency.
- Exposure: Opportunities for a public offering (talk, showing, or workshop) and professional photo/video documentation.

Application Requirements

- LA Themes: Ecological responsibility, tech ethics, human connection, and sustainability.
- NY Themes: Space + Algorithms (Berlin), Hybridization of Spaces (Montréal), or Data + Performance (Spoleto).
