Organizer Information
Pyramid Atlantic Art Center (PAAC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit contemporary art center founded in 1981 by artist Helen C. Frederick, specializing in printmaking, papermaking, and book arts. Originally based in Baltimore, then Silver Spring, the center has been located since 2017 in a historic 13,000-square-foot building in Hyattsville, Maryland's Gateway Arts District. Its facilities include a papermaking studio, print shop, letterpress studio, bindery, and darkroom available to artists in a cooperative setting, alongside private studios, a gallery, and a program of adult classes, residencies, and community programming. The Denbo Fellowship is one of PAAC's residency programs, named for Beverly Denbo (1942–2011), a Bethesda-based arts advocate who served on the boards of Pyramid Atlantic and other regional arts organizations including VisArts, The Round House Theatre, and the James Renwick Alliance.
