Organizer Information
DESIGN X is an international creative platform dedicated to identifying, publishing, and promoting emerging voices working at the intersection of design, art, technology, research, and innovation. Through editorial features, publications, and community-building initiatives, DESIGN X seeks to amplify projects that challenge conventional categories and propose new ways of thinking about the future.
The organization focuses on discovering early-stage ideas with long-term potential, including speculative design projects, experimental technologies, research-driven concepts, creative ventures, and interdisciplinary practices. Through its DESIGN X SERIES editorial platform and the annual DESIGN X EDGE publication, the initiative provides visibility and recognition for designers, artists, researchers, and creative technologists whose work deserves broader international exposure.
DESIGN X positions itself as a bridge between emerging creative talent and a wider ecosystem of design institutions, studios, technology companies, cultural organizations, publishers, and innovation communities.
Title & Description
DESIGN X EDGE 2026 – International Selection of Emerging Design Futures
DESIGN X EDGE 2026 is an international open call seeking innovative and forward-thinking projects from emerging creatives worldwide. The program is designed for ideas that have the potential to evolve beyond academic presentations, prototypes, exhibitions, or early-stage experiments into future products, platforms, systems, cultural initiatives, research frameworks, or creative ventures.
The open call welcomes bold proposals that explore new possibilities in design, technology, culture, and interdisciplinary practice. Projects may emerge from thesis research, independent experimentation, speculative design, startup concepts, creative technology development, public programs, exhibitions, or collaborative investigations.
Rather than focusing solely on finished products, DESIGN X EDGE emphasizes originality, critical thinking, future potential, and strong documentation. The program seeks projects that raise meaningful questions, propose innovative systems, address social or cultural challenges, or introduce new methods of creative practice.
Selected projects will gain editorial visibility through the DESIGN X platform and may be included in the annual DESIGN X EDGE publication, helping participants reach a global audience of designers, artists, researchers, institutions, and industry professionals.
