The Cité internationale des arts is a major international artist residency institution based in Paris, providing studios and professional opportunities for artists from diverse disciplines and countries. This residency is organized in partnership with the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in France, with support from Banco de Reservas de la República Dominicana and the Banreservas Cultural Centre. The program is designed to strengthen the international mobility of Dominican artists and expand their professional and artistic networks.

Dominican Republic x International City of Arts
Dominican Republic × Cité internationale des arts is a research residency program for Dominican visual artists. It offers two selected artists the opportunity to spend three months in Paris developing an artistic project or research, engaging with the local art scene, and connecting with an international community of approximately 300 artists.
Two residencies will take place in 2027: January 5–March 26, 2027, and April 2–June 28, 2027. The program emphasizes artistic research, professional development, networking and meaningful engagement with Paris's cultural environment.

Eligibility
The opportunity is nationally restricted to Dominican artists. Applicants must:
- Be a Dominican national.
- Have resided in the Dominican Republic for at least two years at the time of application.
- Have a minimum of three years of professional artistic experience.
- Work professionally in visual art or an eligible related discipline.
- Be able to communicate professionally in English or French.
- Be available for the full residency period.
There is no age limit. Collective applications are not accepted. Artists who have previously completed a residency at the Cité internationale des arts are not eligible.

Additional Details
Selection is conducted by a multidisciplinary jury representing the program partners and invited art and culture professionals. The jury will consider the quality and originality of the artist's practice, the proposed project, the relevance of Paris to the research, the methodology and potential professional connections with the Paris art scene.
Residents must remain available throughout their residency, actively participate in the program and submit a final report documenting their activities and creative process. The studio-accommodation is not currently fully compliant with accessibility standards for people with disabilities; applicants requiring accessibility information are advised to contact the Cité internationale des arts.
