Organizer Information

Fluxus Art Projects is a Franco-British cultural initiative dedicated to fostering exchange between the contemporary art scenes of France and the United Kingdom. The organization operates as a funding and support platform for curatorial, artistic, and institutional collaborations that strengthen cross-channel dialogue. Its core mission is to promote contemporary French artists in the UK and contemporary British artists in France, while also encouraging experimental and research-driven practices within visual arts institutions.

Fluxus Art Projects positions itself as a facilitator rather than a producer, supporting projects initiated by museums, art centres, non-profit organisations, research institutions, and independent curators. By offering targeted financial assistance, it enables the development of exhibitions, publications, and research-based curatorial work that might otherwise lack sufficient funding. The programme is particularly attentive to innovative formats and the production of new artistic work, reinforcing its commitment to experimentation and transnational cultural exchange.

Title & Description

Exhibition Projects and Curatorial Research Trips – Fluxus Art Projects Grant Open Call

This open call supports two distinct but interconnected strands of contemporary art practice: exhibition-making and curatorial research.

For exhibition projects, Fluxus Art Projects provides co-funding to organisations developing exhibitions that feature living French artists in the UK or British artists in France. The aim is to stimulate artistic exchange between both countries while ensuring the production and presentation of new works within institutional or independent frameworks. Supported projects are expected to contribute meaningfully to contemporary visual arts discourse, whether through exhibitions, commissions, publications, or hybrid formats.

For curatorial research trips, the programme supports individual curators undertaking research relevant to contemporary art practice. These trips are intended to strengthen curatorial development, foster new international connections, and support the conceptual groundwork for future exhibitions or projects. Research trips can include visits to institutions, archives, studios, or independent art spaces in France or the UK, depending on the applicant’s base.

Across both strands, the emphasis is placed on innovation, critical thinking, and the development of new artistic or curatorial knowledge that contributes to Franco-British cultural exchange.
