Organizer Information
RAMDAM, un centre d'art is an artist-run venue in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, France, occupying a former carpentry workshop acquired in 1995. The site became the home base of Compagnie Maguy Marin — led by choreographer Maguy Marin, previously director of the National Choreographic Centre in Rillieux-la-Pape — when the company relocated there permanently in 2015, launching RAMDAM as a shared art center alongside three other resident companies and artists (Cie PARC, La Katet Compagnie, and Florence Girardon). The venue has hosted artistic research residencies in dance, theatre, and other disciplines since 1997, positioning itself explicitly as an activist space that treats the relationship between artistic practice and social and political struggle as a matter of institutional stance rather than incidental context.
Title & Description
Extended Possibilities — Residency Call
This is a 45-day, on-site residency at RAMDAM, un centre d'art, aimed at giving artists or teams extended, uninterrupted time to develop a project with technical support, culminating in a public presentation of work in progress. The call prioritizes multidisciplinary and research-driven projects that work across and challenge the boundaries of their own field, with particular attention to how the artistic work engages with a social and/or political context and resonates with present realities. The residency can be split into two separate periods and may combine a writing residency phase with a staging residency phase.
Theme
Breaking down barriers between disciplines: the call is oriented toward multidisciplinary and research-based projects that challenge and cross the boundaries of their own field of practice, with attention to how the work engages a social and/or political context.
