Organizer Information

KAMP is organized by the Creative Body Institute (CBI), an artist-run non-profit dedicated to expanding work in embodiment, interdependence, and temporality. Hosted in a sustainable eco-art hermitage on the slopes of Mount Lepetymnos, the highest mountain on Lesbos Island, the program emphasizes a "life art" ethos and collective stewardship.

Title & Description

KAMP: Queer Life/Art Residency.

This intensive, nature-integrated program invites queer and trans practitioners to explore queer ecologies, ecofeminist practices, and human/more-than-human collaborations. The residency is designed as a communal "hermitage" experience where the act of sustaining the living space—through shared rhythms, collective cooking, and off-grid living—is an integral part of the creative process.

2026 Residency Tracks:

  • Track 1: Experimental Media & Performativity (July 22 – Aug. 10): Installation, sound, video, and interactive components.
  • Track 2: Relational & Site-Responsive Work (Aug. 14 – Sept. 2): Projects emphasizing exchange between humans and the environment.
  • Track 3: Body-Based & Durational Practice (Sept. 4 – Sept. 26): Exploration of ritual, movement, and corporeality.
  • Track 4: Writer in Residence (Concurrent with Tracks 1-3): Focused on exegesis, publications, or embodied research writing.
