With an artist-in-residence program, KVOST invites selected artists to trace the multi-layered network of meanings of the place and its surroundings or to deal with other geographical and biographical aspects of the East, and to present the resulting works in solo exhibitions.

Description of the Claus Michaletz Preis
In memory of the publisher and founder of the Secco Pontanova Foundation, Claus Michaletz, a prize of 10,000 euros is awarded to artists from Central and Eastern Europe. The prize is awarded once a year and is connected to the KVOST scholarship. Of the prize money, 8,000 euros are at the free disposal of the scholarship holders. 2,000 euros will serve for purchasing a work by the selected artist for the Secco Pontanova Foundation.

Artists whose biographical roots lie in Central and Eastern Europe / the former Eastern Bloc are addressed.
