Because it feels too honest. Too strange. Too awkward. Too personal. Too unfinished.
Because it doesn’t fit the image.
“YOUR IMPERFECT SELF” is an international contemporary art exhibition exploring what exists outside the polished and carefully curated versions of ourselves we present to the world.
We are looking for the backstage, the leftovers, the accidents, the strange experiments, the vulnerable, the private, the rejected and the unresolved. In an era of filters, algorithms and constant self-presentation, what happens when we make space for what we normally choose not to show?
We want to know: Why would you hesitate to share this work publicly? Your answer will become part of the exhibition alongside your work.
“YOUR IMPERFECT SELF” begins in Berlin, but is conceived as a traveling exhibition. Following its first presentation at LiTE-HAUS Galerie, the project aims to continue through collaborations with galleries and cultural spaces in other European cities. The digital exhibition will act as the connecting thread between locations, while future host venues may introduce new physical selections and local artistic perspectives, allowing the exhibition to evolve, travel and create dialogue across different places and communities.

For artists able to deliver their work in Berlin. Only artists who applied for the digital open call may apply for this optional inclusion in the physical exhibition.
