Title & Description
Lines, Shapes & Objects 2026 Art Competition
Fusion Art invites artists and photographers worldwide to participate in the Lines, Shapes & Objects 2026 Art Competition, an international juried competition leading to an online group exhibition scheduled for July 2026.
The theme explores the fundamental visual elements of lines, shapes, and objects, encouraging artists to examine how these essential components influence composition, structure, form, and meaning within a work of art. Inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat’s observation that “Every single line means something,” the competition celebrates the diverse ways artists use line and shape to create visual narratives, represent physical objects, and construct abstract or conceptual imagery.
Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly. Submitted works may range from realism and representational imagery to abstraction, surrealism, conceptual art, and experimental approaches. The competition welcomes artwork in traditional media, photography, digital art, and three-dimensional forms, allowing participants significant creative freedom in responding to the theme.
Selected works will be included in an international online exhibition hosted by Fusion Art. The exhibition will be publicly accessible during July 2026 and subsequently archived on the Fusion Art website for five years, providing artists with long-term exposure and documentation of their participation.

Additional Details
Artists may submit artwork in a wide variety of styles, including realism, abstraction, surrealism, conceptual art, and experimental practices, provided the work relates to the theme of lines, shapes, and objects.
There are no size restrictions on submitted artworks, and artworks do not need to be available for sale in order to be considered.
Digital artworks derived from existing artworks must demonstrate sufficient originality to qualify as new creative works. Fusion Art reserves the right to request source material if copyright concerns arise.
The competition is administered through the Submittable platform, which is widely used by arts organizations, publishers, educational institutions, grantmakers, and cultural programs worldwide. Registration on Submittable is free for applicants.
Because the exhibition remains publicly accessible in the Fusion Art archive for five years, participation offers artists an extended period of online visibility beyond the active exhibition dates.
