Organizer Information
THE JOURNEY fanzine is an independent, self-produced editorial project curated by Italian artist Enzo Comin. The project's first issue, released in 2024, was dedicated to contemporary Ukrainian artists, and was presented publicly at CasaNetural in Gorizia alongside an exhibition of paintings by Comin and fellow artists Roberto Cantarutti and Aleksander Velišček. Comin has also discussed the project on Italian radio (Radio Canale Italia's StoryTime programme). The fanzine positions itself as a purely artistic, non-commercial editorial venture, distinct from a curated exhibition, and is published in both free digital and limited print form.
Title & Description
THE JOURNEY fanzine — Open Call
THE JOURNEY is a fanzine, published online for free and in a limited print edition, conceived as a space for the experiences artists live around and beyond the finished artwork — the process typically left out of exhibitions and curatorial narratives. The organizer describes it as a container for "unsuccessful pieces, special meetings, unexpected changes of the project, incidents and peculiar moments," as well as other personal or unpredictable events connected to the making of art. Each issue features selected artists from around the world, with a specific focus on these untold, behind-the-scenes stories rather than on finished works alone.
Theme
The untold experiences and behind-the-scenes moments of the artistic process — anything that happens around the making of an artwork but doesn't surface in exhibitions or curatorial accounts (failed attempts, chance encounters, unexpected changes, incidents, personal events, etc.).
