Title & Description
Request for Qualifications: LUMINEX 4.0 — Resonance of Connection
LUMINEX 4.0: Resonance of Connection is an international public art initiative scheduled to take place on November 7–8, 2026 in downtown Los Angeles. The program invites artists from diverse disciplines to submit qualifications for consideration in a curated selection process for participation in this large-scale public exhibition.
The project is focused on commissioning museum-quality, conceptually driven, and site-specific works that engage with contemporary ideas of connectivity, perception, technology, and public space. Selected artists will be invited to develop proposals informed by a curatorial framework provided by the organizers, with flexibility to adapt scale, format, and spatial integration according to the urban site context.
The program supports interdisciplinary artistic approaches and is particularly interested in works that expand traditional definitions of public art. This includes immersive installations, projection mapping, interactive environments, sound-based works, performance-based interventions, sculptural installations, and hybrid digital-physical experiences.
Commercial or entertainment-driven submissions will not be considered. The emphasis is on research-based, critically engaged practices that contribute to the cultural and conceptual depth of public space.
LUMINEX has a strong track record of public engagement, with previous editions reaching millions of viewers through media coverage and physical attendance, positioning it as a highly visible platform for contemporary public art practice.
