Miami International Fine Arts (MIFA) is a multidisciplinary arts center located between Doral and Miami Springs, Florida, founded in 2018. What began as a visual arts school has grown into a comprehensive platform for the creation, training, research, and exhibition of contemporary art, combining fine arts training programs, a printmaking and graphic production workshop, four gallery spaces, mentorship and professional development programs, and an experimental program spanning performance, dance, music, poetry, and movement. MIFA also runs an artist residency program and describes itself as Miami's only ARC-approved fine arts school for its academic training track, alongside its exhibition and community programming under the tagline "The Art is Alive." The center presents curatorial projects on a bi-monthly basis and positions itself as an independent, artist-led space operating without permanent sponsors or institutional operating grants.

MIFA 2027 Open Call for Exhibition Projects
MIFA is seeking proposals for its 2027 exhibition program across its four gallery spaces. The call welcomes individual, collective, curatorial, and interdisciplinary projects at any stage of development — finished exhibitions, works in progress, site-specific proposals, and projects that need to be developed in relation to MIFA's architecture and community are all eligible. Each proposal is evaluated on artistic quality, conceptual clarity, contemporary relevance, technical feasibility, and its capacity to engage with the requested gallery space. Only projects approved by MIFA's Artistic Director may formalize participation and reserve a slot in the 2027 calendar.

Eligibility
- Open to emerging, mid-career, and established artists
- Open to independent curators, artist collectives, cultural organizations, and educational or research platforms
- Open to MIFA artists in residence as well as artists outside the institution
- Open to national and international participants, with no restrictions based on nationality, country of residence, identity, discipline, or artistic medium
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or older

Additional Details
- Financial participation does not replace the curatorial process; paying a gallery fee does not guarantee selection
- Applicants unable to cover the participation fee in full or in part may submit a formal letter to the Artistic Director explaining their financial situation, the amount they could contribute, and any in-kind support available; MIFA may consider a payment plan, partial reduction, service exchange, institutional collaboration, in-kind contribution, or, in exceptional cases, a full waiver — submitting the letter does not guarantee approval
- Selection follows three stages: proposal review, shortlisting with interviews (which do not constitute final acceptance), and final selection with space assignment
- The participation fee does not cover production of artworks, framing, packing/crating, transportation, insurance, professional installers, technical equipment, catalog printing, paid advertising, travel, accommodation, or specialized personnel — selected participants must plan and fund these themselves
- Selected projects must sign an exhibition agreement, complete payments on schedule, produce and install the work, provide texts/images/technical sheets by MIFA's calendar, and restore the gallery space to its original condition after deinstallation; failure to meet these responsibilities may result in modification or cancellation of the project
- MIFA's rail system must be used where technically possible, and no structural, electrical, or wall alterations are permitted without prior written authorization
- Applicants retain intellectual property of their work; by submitting, they confirm they hold the necessary rights over all included materials, and selected projects authorize MIFA to use exhibition images and documentation for communications, press, archiving, education, and promotion, with credit to the author
- The following will not be considered: proposals submitted only via social media, links without the required PDF, incomplete documents, proposals without images, late submissions, and financial support requests submitted after the application
