Curatorial Residency: the Other-School of Curating of the Canary Islands

Title & Description

The Other-School of Curating of the Canary Islands (First Edition: One Collective Voice)

The Other-School of Curating of the Canary Islands is an intensive programme of research, training and experimentation in contemporary curatorial practice, organised by Vega de Agua in collaboration with CCA Gran Canaria. Under the title One Collective Voice, this first edition proposes rethinking curatorship through collectivity, via a horizontal pedagogical model that places dialogue, care and shared learning at the heart of the process. The programme will take place in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from 20 to 27 September 2026 and includes workshops with invited voices from both the archipelago and beyond, visits to studios and cultural spaces across the Canarian territory, encounters with local cultural agents, and a performative guided route through the city.
