Title & Description
Prix Art Écoconception 2026 – Supporting Artists Toward Sustainable Practice in Contemporary Art
The Prix Art Écoconception is an annual initiative designed to support contemporary artists in actively reducing the environmental impact of their artistic practice. The 2026 edition will select 12 laureate artists from across France and internationally (provided they reside in France) to participate in a structured program combining training, field visits, and expert mentorship.
The core purpose of the program is not to fund a specific artistic project, but to enable artists to critically evaluate and transform the ecological footprint of their existing practice. Selected artists will engage in a four-day intensive program in Paris and the Greater Paris region, where they will learn from environmental experts, curators, and practitioners working at the intersection of art and sustainability.
The program also includes immersive visits to sites related to ecological transition in the art and cultural sectors, allowing participants to gain practical insights into sustainable production methods, material sourcing, and institutional practices.
The Prize positions ecological responsibility not as an aesthetic theme, but as a structural transformation of artistic production methods, encouraging long-term behavioral and professional change.
