Proto Produkciia Foundation is a cultural organization working to support independent artistic and cultural practices, with a focus on strengthening sustainable and resilient approaches within the performing arts sector. This residency is part of “Horizontal Lab: Shared Agency & Co-Creation,” implemented by proto produkciia foundation in partnership with the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House in Mykolaiv, a programme of the Danish Cultural Institute and Danish Youth Council, with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.

Residency in Moldova: Sustainable Independent Artistic Practice
The residency explores how artists, managers, and producers can maintain and develop independent artistic practices in contexts of instability, uncertainty, and limited resources. It focuses on long-term resilience, sustainable project development, resource-building, partnerships, and independent arts management.
Selected participants will take part in a five-day peer-led residency designed to exchange experiences, test collaborative tools, and develop practical strategies for financially and organizationally resilient artistic practices. No artistic production is required. Instead, participants are expected to contribute their experience, participate in collective reflection, and engage actively with other professionals.

Eligibility
The open call is seeking 20 emerging and mid-career professionals from:
- Ukraine — with priority for people living in or originally from the Mykolaiv region
- Moldova — all regions
- Sakartvelo (Georgia) — all regions
Applicants may be artists, managers, or producers working in the performing arts. The programme prioritizes applicants aged 18–35, while emerging and mid-career professionals outside this age group may also apply.
Special consideration will be given to Antonin Artaud Fellows from the Mykolaiv region. Professional duos consisting of an artist and manager/producer may apply separately and should mention their colleague in their applications.

- Partial reimbursement of travel costs to Chișinău:
- Up to €270 for participants from Sakartvelo

Additional Details
The residency emphasizes peer-led exchange rather than the creation of a finished artistic work. Participants should be prepared to share professional experiences and actively contribute to a temporary learning community.
Accommodation and bathrooms are shared, and only vegetarian meals are provided. Participants interested in contributing an activity or topic to the programme should indicate their proposal in the application form.
The programme brings together 6–7 participants from each of the three participating countries, creating an international peer network across Ukraine, Moldova, and Sakartvelo.
