The Swedish Arts Grants Committee (Konstnärsnämnden) is a Swedish government agency that provides grants, scholarships, and international development opportunities for professional artists. Through its International Programme for Visual and Applied Artists (IASPIS), the Committee supports artists in developing their practices and building professional networks internationally. For this residency, IASPIS collaborates with the Swedish Institute in Paris (Institut Suédois), Sweden’s cultural centre in France.

IASPIS Guest accommodation in Paris, Swedish Institute
Guest Accommodation in Paris, Swedish Institute is an international residency opportunity for professional practitioners in the visual and applied arts. The programme is designed to give Swedish-based artists time in Paris to develop their artistic practice, explore new ideas, and establish or strengthen professional contacts within the French and international arts community.
Selected artists receive accommodation at the Swedish Institute in the heart of Paris together with a SEK 30,000 grant intended to contribute toward travel, living expenses, and some material costs. The residency lasts one month during autumn/winter 2027–2028.

Eligibility
The opportunity is intended for professional artists working in visual or applied arts. Applicants must earn all or part of their livelihood from their artistic activities and regularly present their work to an audience or within an artistic context.
Applicants must be resident in Sweden or primarily practise their art in Sweden. Foreign citizens may apply if they meet this Sweden-based requirement. Swedish citizens living abroad must demonstrate that most of their artistic activity takes place in Sweden.
Applicants cannot be students for more than 50% of their time when the award decision is made. They must also meet the Committee's financial and legal requirements, including having no qualifying debts transferred to the Swedish Enforcement Authority and complying with EU de minimis aid regulations.

The guest flat is primarily residential and cannot be used as a studio or rehearsal space. It has two beds and a small working area with a desk. Pets and children under 15 are not permitted. The grant is tax-exempt.

Additional Details
Work samples are mandatory. Applicants should submit 5–10 current and representative samples, preferably from the previous two years. Accepted formats include JPG, MP3, MP4, and MOV, subject to the stated file-size limits.
Applications are assessed by members of the Visual Artists' Fund, who consider the quality of the applicant's artistic activities and financial need. At least two people review each application. The grant does not require a financial report, but recipients must report on their visit after returning home.
Applications may be submitted in English. Applicants should also note that applications submitted to the Swedish Arts Grants Committee become public documents under Swedish law.
