Short Description

The Municipality of Steinfort, in collaboration with Aktikulti a.s.b.l., is pleased to announce the launch of the 7th edition of the sculpture competition. The sculpture will be placed on the site near the “Op der Berk” viewpoint, at the location of the DINO sculpture it will replace.

Eligibility

The work will have to enhance the site while respecting its cultural and natural side. A free, playful work, in dialogue with this high, accessible place, which invites the imagination. The work must imperatively withstand bad weather over the long term.

Submission Requirements

All participating artists will be required to present a detailed dossier with the following:

  • Detailed plans of the sculpture and how it will be positioned on the designated site
  • Precise information as to how it will be fixed to the ground
  • Dimensions of the sculpture and materials used
  • Project Plan (sketch) of the sculpture in a DIN A1 format
  • The necessary utilities required i.e. electricity, water etc.
  • A model of the proposed work of art

Program Benefits & Awards

A budget of € 30.000 will be made available to the winner of the competition, by the
Commune of Steinfort, in order to cover the costs of the material, time and transport,
including pedestal and fixation.
This sum will be paid in two parts:

  • 50% at the beginning of the work
  • 50% upon completion of the work
    An additional budget of up to €10,000 is allocated to the artist to cover exclusively the costs
    of transporting and installing the work. This amount does not apply to the creation of the
    sculpture. Transport must be included in the estimate and schedule provided by the artist.
    Furthermore, the Municipality of Steinfort will not provide its technical services for the
    installation of the work.
    The artist undertakes to respect the contract and the deadlines established between the
    Municipality of Steinfort and the artist.
