Organizer Information

A-Galerii (A-Gallery) is one of the most significant contemporary jewelry and blacksmithing art spaces in Estonia. Established as a key cultural platform, A-Galerii has played a central role in developing and promoting contemporary jewelry practices within the Baltic and broader European art scene. Located in the historic old town of Tallinn, the gallery uniquely bridges historical craftsmanship traditions with experimental contemporary approaches.

Originally functioning as a goldsmith’s shop, A-Galerii has evolved into a hybrid space that supports exhibitions, artistic research, and interdisciplinary collaborations. It is run by a collective of professional jewelry artists and curators who actively contribute to shaping discourse around material-based practices, craft, and visual culture. Through its curated programs, A-Galerii offers artists opportunities to experiment, exhibit, and engage with both local and international audiences.

Title & Description

A-Galerii Exhibition Open Call 2027 for Contemporary Jewelry & Interdisciplinary Projects

A-Galerii invites artists, curators, and interdisciplinary practitioners to submit exhibition proposals for its 2027 program, specifically for two distinct spaces: VAULT and WINDOWS.

This open call focuses on contemporary jewelry as a central medium while encouraging bold experimentation across disciplines. Artists are invited to explore the boundaries of jewelry and blacksmithing practices, integrating them with other artistic fields such as sound, video, literature, architecture, performance, and visual arts.

The VAULT space functions as an intimate exhibition environment dedicated primarily to professional jewelry artists and blacksmiths. It emphasizes newly produced works and conceptual projects that engage with contemporary craft and its historical context.

The WINDOWS program, by contrast, extends the gallery into the public urban environment. These display windows act as a hybrid exhibition format—simultaneously engaging passersby and gallery visitors. Artists are encouraged to create site-responsive or collaborative works that interact with the surrounding cityscape and audience perception.

Curatorial proposals are strongly encouraged, particularly those that bring together multiple artists under a unified conceptual framework. Importantly, A-Galerii also welcomes proposals that are still in development, offering a collaborative approach to refining and realizing exhibition ideas.
