Tate, in collaboration with the Delfina Foundation, is offering the Brooks International Fellowship Programme 2027, now in its thirteenth year. The programme brings international researchers to Tate for a six-month period of research and professional exchange, complemented by participation in the Delfina Foundation’s residency programme in London. Fellows work with Tate colleagues, access institutional collections and archives, and engage with wider networks in the UK and European cultural sector.

Brooks International Fellowship Programme 2027
The Brooks International Fellowship Programme 2027 offers two six-month research fellowships within the Tate Britain Curatorial Division, both designed for international researchers based outside the UK.
The first fellowship, Leonora Carrington: Art and the Theatre of Life, focuses on the British-Mexican artist Leonora Carrington and her engagement with theatre, performance and performativity. The Fellow will conduct foundational research across archives, manuscripts, correspondence, photographs and ephemera, placing Carrington’s theatrical work within her transnational career.
The second fellowship, Artist Supported Studios, contributes to research and development connected with the 2028 Tate Britain Commission. It examines the practices of supported studios working with disabled and neurodivergent artists, including questions of collaboration, communication, artistic agency, documentation and institutional practice.

Eligibility
The fellowships are international and open to researchers based outside the UK. Applicants should demonstrate relevant research experience and expertise related to the specific fellowship they are applying for.
For the Leonora Carrington fellowship, knowledge of Mexican social and political contexts, culture and performance histories in the second half of the twentieth century is particularly relevant.
The Artist Supported Studios fellowship is focused on research involving supported studios, disabled and neurodivergent artists, commissioning practices and collaborative artistic processes.
