Organizer Information
Everything But The Work (EBTW) was launched in 2024 by co-creators Ashley Diane Saldana and Karly Jean Kainz. Both interdisciplinary artists themselves, they noticed a digital landscape oversaturated with final results and polished portfolios. In response, they built EBTW as an ongoing project of exploration and vulnerability, asking the pivotal question: “How could we show someone’s practice without actually showing their work?”
Title & Description
Everything But The Work: 2026 Quarter 3 Featured Artist Open Call
This open call invites artists to peel back the curtain on the mundane, the ritualistic, and the experimental aspects of their daily lives that fuel their creativity. Unlike traditional features, EBTW is dedicated solely to the why and how behind the work, focusing on the inspirations and processes that are usually invisible to the public.
Selected artists will be highlighted over a five-day digital residency (Monday–Friday) on both the official website and Instagram, structured as follows:
- Monday: Introduction (Who are you and what do you make?)
- Tuesday: Processes (What does your practice look like?)
- Wednesday: Influences (Who inspires you and your work?)
- Thursday: Challenges (What’s an obstacle you’ve had to overcome?)
- Friday: Reflections (What’s next?)
