Exhibition Producer (Freelance) – arebyte Digital Art Centre 2026

Arebyte Digital Art Centre is seeking a freelance Exhibition Producer to coordinate the full production cycle of a major group exhibition featuring nine international media artists. The role is central to translating the curatorial vision into a fully realised exhibition, managing all stages from planning and fabrication to installation, public opening, and deinstallation.

The project focuses on Digital Art, Media Arts, and immersive contemporary practices, requiring a producer capable of managing complex technical workflows, multidisciplinary teams, and international logistics. The exhibition opens on 17 September 2026 in London and runs until January 2027.

The Producer will work closely with the Head of Programmes, Technical Manager, artists, fabricators, and external contractors to ensure the exhibition is delivered on time, within budget, and to a high production standard.

The Role Overview

  • Position Type: Freelance, project-based
  • Fee: £200 per day (depending on experience)
  • Duration: 15–18 working days (spread across project timeline)

Position & Tasks

The Exhibition Producer will be responsible for the full production lifecycle of the exhibition:

Production Planning & Delivery
  • Develop and manage full production schedules across all phases
  • Coordinate milestones, including design, fabrication, installation, and deinstallation
  • Lead communication between internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Monitor progress and resolve production issues
  • Deliver reporting, documentation, and post-project evaluation
Design & Fabrication Coordination
  • Translate curatorial concepts into technical production requirements
  • Source materials and fabrication solutions aligned with budget and design intent
  • Liaise with fabricators and suppliers for quotes and execution
  • Oversee testing and technical feasibility assessments
Logistics & Installation
  • Manage transport, shipping, installation, and deinstallation of artworks
  • Develop installation timelines with technical teams
  • Hire and coordinate contractors (technicians, invigilators, photographers)
  • Arrange travel and accommodation for artists
  • Oversee AV equipment and supplier logistics
Budget & Operations
  • Manage full production budget and expenditure tracking
  • Process invoices and maintain financial records
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations
  • Maintain project documentation and operational reporting

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to international and UK-based applicants with professional experience in exhibition production and cultural project management.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Arts Administration or exhibition production
  • Experience working with technical teams and fabricators
  • Strong production scheduling and budgeting skills
  • Knowledge of contemporary Digital Art and exhibition practices
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines independently

Additional requirements:

  • Must have legal right to work in the United Kingdom (no visa sponsorship provided)

  • Experience with AV systems and digital exhibition environments

Preferred:

  • Experience in immersive or technologically complex exhibitions
