Seattle Arts & Lectures (SAL) is a literary nonprofit based in Seattle, Washington, dedicated to cultivating transformative experiences through story and language with readers and writers of all generations. Individual Giving & Engagement Manager
Individual Giving & Engagement Manager is a full-time fundraising position responsible for leading SAL’s individual giving program. The role manages a portfolio of approximately 100 donors and prospects and oversees their qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The manager also leads annual individual giving campaigns toward a $500,000 annual goal and develops the portfolio-management and fundraising systems needed to track donor relationships and campaign performance.

Position & Tasks
- The position focuses primarily on portfolio management and individual fundraising (45%), including developing donor relationships, conducting meetings and solicitations, researching prospects, creating individualized donor strategies, and coordinating portfolio strategy meetings.
- Individual giving campaigns and donor engagement (30%) include leading year-end, fiscal year-end, re-subscribe, and GiveBIG campaigns; developing acquisition, retention, and upgrading strategies; creating donor communications; analyzing campaign results; and coordinating donor stewardship activities.
- Portfolio systems, analysis, and fundraising operations (15%) involve maintaining CRM records, donor research, gift information, reports, dashboards, and fundraising analysis.
- The remaining 10% involves organizational and team engagement, including participation in development events, literary programs, receptions, WITS programming, and other activities that build relationships with SAL supporters.

Eligibility
- Applicants should have at least four years of direct experience managing an individual donor portfolio, including qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Candidates should have experience with donors at different giving levels and with annual giving campaigns covering acquisition, retention, and upgrading.
- Desired qualifications include experience with major or principal-gift donors, portfolio and moves management, donor relationship support, fundraising CRMs such as PatronManager or Salesforce, and work in arts, culture, education, or literary nonprofits.

Program Benefits
The position offers a $90,000–$96,000 salary and a benefits package including paid vacation, wellness and personal days, holidays, and employer-paid medical, vision, and dental insurance premiums. SAL also provides long-term disability, group life insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, a 403(b) retirement contribution of 3% of gross salary, flex time where appropriate, and support and budget for professional development.
Finalists completing the required written exercise receive a $250 stipend.

Additional Details
Evening and weekend work is required, typically 3–5 times per month from September through June, with flex time available. Regular travel to donor meetings throughout the Seattle area is required, along with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; mileage is reimbursed. Relocation assistance is not provided.
