Organizer Information
LTK4 — Sound-based Arts is a dedicated venue for sound art housed inside the Luther Tower (Lutherturm) of the Lutherkirche, in Cologne-Südstadt, Germany. Since 2017, LTK4 has offered a permanent home for sound-based art forms in the region — a space made up of stacked chambers rising through the tower toward a cathedral-scale bell frame, giving each installation a distinct acoustic, visual, and climatic setting. Within its first two years, LTK4 presented more than 100 artists, musicians, and media practitioners from 13 countries, work that earned it Cologne's Kölner Kulturpreis in 2019. The programme is curated by Rochus Aust (since 2017) and Verena Barié (since 2021), and includes a monthly format called SOIRÉE SONIQUE alongside its exhibitions. LTK4 is a member of AIC – Art Initiatives Cologne and maintains ongoing international cooperations, including with Audio Foundation Auckland in New Zealand, Instants Vidéo Marseille in France, and the Ladakh Arts and Media Organisation in India.
