VSW Project Space Residency 2027 – 4-Week Funded Residency in Rochester, NY
The Project Space Residency at Visual Studies Workshop is a 4-week residency program designed to support artists working in photography, film, and media art. The program emphasizes process-based artistic development, offering participants the time, space, and institutional support needed to explore and produce new work.
Residents are provided with a private studio and full access to VSW’s production facilities, enabling them to experiment with both digital and analog techniques. In addition to studio work, the residency encourages engagement with the public through lectures and open studio events, fostering dialogue between artists and the local community.
The residency is open to artists at any stage of their career and is structured to support both emerging and established practitioners seeking focused development time within a collaborative environment.

Program Benefits & Awards
Selected residents will receive a partially funded residency package, including:
