Red Quincho (Asociación Civil Red Quincho) is a nonprofit network that brings together art residencies across Argentina. Formed in 2020 out of a series of weekly virtual meetings held by Argentine residency spaces during the pandemic, the network has since grown to include more than 30 member projects spanning provinces such as Buenos Aires, CABA, Catamarca, Córdoba, Chaco, Entre Ríos, Neuquén, Río Negro, Salta, Santa Fe, Tucumán, and Tierra del Fuego. Its name comes from the Quechua word "qincha" (also "kincha" in Mapudungun), referring to a roofed, open-walled shelter traditionally used for outdoor gatherings — reflecting the network's inclusive, federal, and collaborative spirit. Red Quincho positions itself as a fabric of national and international cooperation among residency spaces of very different scale and history, from institutions with two decades of trajectory to emerging projects, working to strengthen the sector's sustainability, visibility, and access to funding. The Beca Constelaciones program is developed in partnership with Fundación Williams, with support from the Centro Cultural de España en Buenos Aires (CCEBA) and Fundación Santander Argentina, through the Cultural Promotion Regime (Mecenazgo) of the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires.

Beca Constelaciones 2026

Red Quincho has opened the call for the fourth edition of Constelaciones 2026, its residency grant program connecting artists, curators, and researchers with urban and rural territories across Argentina. This edition will award a total of 15 grants: 13 for people residing in Argentina, and 2 for people currently living in Spain, a distribution intended to foster exchange between local scenes and international contexts. Beca Constelaciones 2026 offers a one-month residency split across two different Red Quincho spaces, paired into "constelaciones" (duos) that cross different territories and contexts throughout the country. Each applicant must apply to one specific constellation (pairing) of residencies. Participants are accompanied by the residencies' coordinators and take part in collective activities, encounters, and programming with local communities, fostering dialogue between practices, scenes, and situated knowledge. Thirteen constellation pairings are available for 2026, each spanning two residency spaces in different regions of the country (for example, Alberdi in Córdoba paired with Casa Suiza de La Boca in Buenos Aires; Curadora in Santa Fe paired with Manta in Neuquén; Monte in Chaco paired with R.A.R.O. in Buenos Aires, among others), with each pairing built around its own thematic proposal.

Theme

No single fixed theme — the program's 13 available constellations each propose their own thematic focus tied to the specific pair of territories involved (for example, dialogues between rural and urban contexts, art and environment, extractivism and land, or ancestral and digital memory). Applicants select one constellation and its associated theme when applying.

Eligibility

For applicants residing in Argentina:
  • Open to Argentine or foreign artists, curators, and researchers who legally reside in Argentina and hold a DNI (Documento Nacional de Identidad) issued by RENAPER (a DNI "in process" receipt does not count as valid identification)
  • Open to individual applicants only — collectives of artists/curators/researchers are not eligible
  • Members of Red Quincho (Asociación Civil) are excluded from applying
For applicants residing in Spain:
  • Open to Spanish artists, curators, and researchers who reside in Spain
  • Open to individual applicants only — collectives are not eligible
General:
  • Each applicant may select only one constellation (pairing) to apply to

Program Benefits

For Argentina-based grantees (13 grants):
  • Free accommodation, work space, and activity programming at both host residencies, at no cost to the resident
  • AR $1,000,000 (one million Argentine pesos) per grantee, intended to cover mobility (travel), living, and/or production expenses, paid by bank transfer
  • Note: travel insurance, artwork transport, and materials are the grantee's own responsibility
For Spain-based grantees (2 grants):
  • Round-trip air travel from Spain to Argentina and back, including transport to the residency sites
  • AR $1,000,000 (one million Argentine pesos) per grantee, for living and/or production expenses
  • Travel insurance
  • Accommodation at the residencies (conditions may vary by residency space)
  • Note: costs such as artwork transport and materials remain the grantee's own responsibility; accommodation outside the official residency period is also the grantee's own responsibility

Additional Details

  • Selection process (Argentina-based applicants): directors of each residency pairing jointly select the candidate they consider most appropriate for their constellation
  • Selection process (Spain-based applicants): a first-stage preselection is carried out by the directors of each pairing, followed by a second-stage jury designated by Red Quincho, which selects the 2 final grantees
  • Results will be published on the Red Quincho website and, for Argentina-based grantees, also on the Fundación Williams website; selected applicants are additionally notified by email
  • Full-time, in-person dedication is required during the residency period at both sites of the chosen constellation
  • Within 30 calendar days of completing the residency, each grantee must submit a Final Report describing the activities carried out, including supplementary material (photos, videos, etc.)
  • Argentina-based grantees must also submit a short thank-you letter to Fundación Williams as co-funder of the program
  • Spain-based grantees' funding is channeled with support from CCEBA, and their communications must credit "Proyecto realizado con el apoyo de Red Quincho y CCEBA – Centro Cultural de España en Buenos Aires"
  • All communications and public references related to the residency must credit the appropriate supporting institutions using the specified wording and provided logos
  • Grantees retain intellectual property rights over their work under Argentine Law 11.723, but grant Red Quincho (and, where applicable, CCEBA and participating residencies) authorization to use, reproduce, and publicly exhibit or communicate project materials and images for non-commercial purposes
  • Non-compliance with program requirements may result in loss of the grant, required repayment of funds received, and/or disqualification from future Red Quincho calls
  • To receive payment, Argentina-based grantees must submit proof of current AFIP registration and bank account (CBU) details within 10 days of notification of selection
