DAS MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam is a museum for modern and contemporary art housed in a former terrace restaurant on the Brauhausberg. The building was constructed between 1971 and 1977 in the modernist style of the GDR as part of the city partnership between Potsdam and Minsk, and it was well known and popular among Potsdam's inhabitants during GDR times as a place to engage, discuss, and meet. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 the building fell into disrepair, and in 2019 the Hasso Plattner Foundation acquired it and began a careful restoration, preserving features such as the building's distinctive spiral staircase and round bar. The museum has operated as the Museum of Modern Art in Potsdam since 2022, presenting works from the former GDR that are part of the Hasso Plattner Collection alongside contemporary art. It is the second Potsdam project of the Hasso Plattner Foundation, following Museum Barberini, which opened in 2017. Concerts, readings, and performances take place regularly alongside exhibitions, and the museum's Cafébar HEDWIG is accessible without museum admission, reflecting the building's continuing role as a place of hospitality and public life.

Culinary Residency at DAS MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam
This newly launched residency program invites chefs, artists, food designers, and interdisciplinary practitioners to explore the history of the former terrace restaurant or to develop new contemporary forms of eating together. The program frames cooking as a cultural and artistic practice, engaging with questions of community, memory, hospitality, nutrition, regional traditions, agricultural science, ecology, and the future of food. During the residency, the selected participant develops their own project and contributes it to the museum's public program, with the aim of opening new perspectives on art, nutrition, and social issues while actively involving visitors.
