Foundation House is a nonprofit center for learning located on a 75-acre property in backcountry Greenwich, Connecticut, built in 1925 as one of the town's few remaining "Great Estates." Its mission focuses on mental health, environmental, and social justice issues, which it pursues through residencies, workshops, lectures, and other convenings. Foundation House opens its property several times a year to host both artist residencies and activist retreats, viewing creative practice as an essential part of the conversations it fosters around its core mission areas. The organization is based around a grand manor house alongside historic stables, greenhouses, and outbuildings, and also maintains public wooded trails on the property that are open year-round.

Foundation House Artist Residency Program — Fall 2026 Session
Foundation House invites artists of all disciplines to apply for a 10-day working residency at its Greenwich, CT property. Up to six residents will be given dedicated time and space for concentrated creative work in a rural, retreat-like setting. The program is framed as an opportunity for artists to contribute a creative perspective to Foundation House's ongoing conversations on mental health, environmental, and social justice issues, and residents are expected to carry through with proposed projects aligned with that mission.

Eligibility
- Open to artists of all creative disciplines
- Applicants from countries that would require a visa to travel to the U.S. are not eligible for this session, due to the limited time between application close and residency start
