The Fundació Caixa Castelló, in collaboration with the City Council of Sant Mateu and the Diputació de Castelló, presents the Nodus 2026 Contemporary Dance Artistic Residency. This initiative is designed to foster innovation, international exchange, and the development of contemporary dance practices within the Castelló region, Spain.
The program is coordinated by choreographer Toni Aparisi and cultural technician Alfredo Llopico, bringing together artistic expertise and institutional support to create a structured yet experimental environment for choreographic creation. The residency also integrates local cultural heritage, connecting contemporary movement practices with regional identity and traditions.

Nodus 2026 Contemporary Dance Artistic Residency – Sant Mateu (Castelló, Spain)
The Nodus 2026 Residency is an international Residency program dedicated to the creation, experimentation, and development of contemporary Dance works. Taking place in Sant Mateu, Spain, the program brings together selected choreographers and dancers from around the world to collaboratively explore new forms of movement-based artistic expression.
The residency aims to expand contemporary Choreography by encouraging participants to develop individual pieces while engaging in collective creative processes. Over the course of the program, artists will refine new choreographic works inspired by the cultural and geographical context of the Maestrat region.
Participants will work in a structured environment that combines independent creation with collaborative experimentation, culminating in a public performance at the Auditorio Municipal de Sant Mateu.

Eligibility
- Open to international applicants

- Professional or emerging choreographers and dancers
- Individual applications only (no collectives specified)
- Applicants must submit prior choreographic work (video required)
- Availability for the full residency period (July 23–31, 2026) is required
- Ability to participate in collaborative and community-based creation processes

Additional Details
