Organizer Information
Today Art Initiative (TAI) is an independent cultural organization dedicated to creating decentralized spaces for contemporary art in Armenia. By reopening its residency program outside major urban hubs, TAI aims to foster critical dialogue, cross-cultural exchange, and sustainable cultural development within historic regional communities.
Title & Description
Rural Art Residency in Talin 2026/2027.
This residency program offers artists an immersive environment to pause, reflect, and produce work in a deep historical context. Located in Talin—a ancient town situated at the foot of Mount Aragats and famous for its 7th-century Talin Cathedral—the program merges a serene natural landscape with an active neighborhood ecosystem. The residency operates as an open-ended platform where contemporary creators can explore local micro-histories, rural traditions, or geographic topographies.
Community Integration Framework:
A central anchor of the residency is community engagement. Rather than working in isolation, artists are encouraged to merge their research with the local population through public activations, educational workshops, or site-specific collaborative interventions.

Additional Details
The residency serves as an independent space for collective unlearning and local research. Because the program centers heavily on localized interactions on the foot of Mount Aragats, artists should outline their capacity to work independently in a rural environment. All final events are free and open to the local public.
